Had to watch this one since it had Toshirô Mifune and was directed by Kurosawa. Set and filmed in post war Japan it give the viewer a real feel for Japanese culture and identity crisis after the war. Mifune plays a new homicide detective whose gun is stolen and has to go into the "underworld" to retrieve it. I enjoyed it and I think most Mifune fans will as well. Different role than we are use to seeing him in.
