I wanted to get some opines on what your favorite war or military movie is, for me it has got to be Black Hawk Down, I could watch that everyday and never get sick of it.

I like "casulties of war" with that back to the future guy can't remember his name and Sean penn. bit o the real stuff in that one. i also like the old cowboy movie "Shane" for one scene the one where Martin Landou gets stabbed in the corral the scream is too real not like the fake screams or the quiet death scenes people SCREAM.

My favorite would have to be "Enemy at the Gate"
It is about WWII's most famous sniper, the battle of Stalingrad, and the famous sniper duel between Vassilli Zaitsev [the hero] and Major Konig, his german counterpart. I have always read accounts of the battle od Stalingrad, but this movie brought all those accounts to life for me.

I liked all the above along with the older 'Sands of Iwojima' with John Wayne and 'Objective Burma' with Errol Flynn among many others but my favorite isn't a movie...it's 'The World at War',a documentary series in 26 parts narrated by Laurence Olivier which I have on a boxed set of DVDs.
Part of that is devoted to the Battle of Stalingrad where Vassilli Zaitsev and Major Konig are mentioned...what a hellhole!!
Edit:
Who could ever forget 'The Halls of Montezuma' with Jack Palance...what a guy. ;)

Wow Dotanuki, that was a great movie. I may have to pull that one out of the collection tonight. I would have to say my favorite was Saving Private Ryan.
