What length tsuka do you guys prefer? I personally prefer a longer tsuka around 14 inches. I like having a maneuverable sword that I can turn on a dime. Although I am not a serious practitioner of any sword using martial art, bottles undoubtedly cower in fear when I get hold of a quick blade.

We had this discussion on the old forum, and I have seen it elsewhere, and it usually boils down to what style you study. Now that it has been said, I shall move on to the topic at hand!

I prefer 11", it is maneuverable without getting in the way when I am cutting, and I also prefer the balance I get.

11 1/2 to 12" works for me.I think the corn leaf saber is like 14" and is one reason it is so well balanced, now if only I knew how to use the damn thing.

I'm not a serious practitioner either Yaso, but I find that 11-12" just seems to feel "right" for me in that zen sort of way.

I prefer 10-11", that is what I have used for years, anything above that and it feels very awkward to me.

I prefer a hilt from 12-14 inches. I have the masahiro elite fuji which has a 14 in. hilt and the masahiro philosophy which has a 12 in. grip, so I have a sword for my prefered hilt lenghts. I dont lik 11 or under because it feels like I dont have much to hold on to.

I prefer 12 inches or less. I don't really practice any traditional style swordsmanship techniques and I also collect fantasy and medieval styles so I try out alot of different grips, some of them one handed. Also if I get one too much longer I find myself wanting to slide my hand like I do with and axe.

I like it with one hand swords but not with swords that are meant to be used with two hands. My friend Godfrey has two unedged single hand broadswords we use to fight with. I like that because I only use one hand, but if I want to use two hands then I want a longer hilt.

I like hilts longer than 11 inches for bigger blades because I need room for both hands if I want a powerfull cut:sword: but it all depends on what sword you like bestB-), me I like swords like the katana, nodachi, and the ninjato, it's just preferince:>.
