i am looking for a paul chen katana mainly for display but also for cutting i have around $1500 to spend and i like the tiger elite and oni l6/bainite but any recomendations would be appreciated i am a powerfully built 5'10 and 210 pounds so i dont want anything too lightwieght. although this will be my 9th sword it will be my first katana so i am grateful for any advice recieved

They will both be great cutters, from a purely visual point of view, the Oni has the advantage (IMO) rattan wrapping on the saya, black on black with silver furniture looks great, and being a first of it's kind (L6 Binaite) from Paul Chen doesn't hurt either. Keep in mind that for cutting though, the Oni will take time to get use to do to the long tsuka (handle), a 14" handle can feel very awkward in the hands, especially if you have any previous experience with a shorter handled Katana.

thanks for the advice i like the sound of the oni but will give it some thought over the next day or two before i make my decision

L6 is supposed to be down right indestructible,great stuff if your on a learning curve.But for that kind of dough,you can pick and chose among production kats.Chose wisely.

thanks for your help i've been looking around for a month or so now and paul chen seem to get the best reviews i can find but if anyone has any other suggestions i could look at it would be greatly appreciated
