Bob-o
My nihonto came back from Fred Lohman with a black segeo when i wanted scarlet , so , i'm about to order and change it but am a little nervouse about messing up the tying of the sageo been lookin at all the different knots and stuff, but i like yours,
A). simple
B). can be worn in a momenmts notice
C). doesn't ruin the sageo cord by being knoted for too long
i'll let you know how it turns out. thanks for that one

screw the sageo where did you get that sword

thats not mine, it is actually a pic from tameshigiri.com where I have perchased Tatami Omote before, I just used it as an example cause my sword is getting new Mekugi. You can however wrap your saya in rattan like the one in that pic, according to Justice it is pretty easy

I have talked with him about it before, first you need some rattan cane http://rattancane.com/chair_cane.htm, some super glue, and spring clamps. You have to cut the first part at a long angle so when it wraps around it will be parallel to the tsuba (if that makes sense), and I think he said that it is easier to only do a few wraps at a time. Once you are done just sand and lacquer or stain

I wrapped the scabbard for my sundang similar to that, but with parachute cord, to protect it and tighten it when I went to Iraq. It takes patience and even more so with rattan since its more rigid.
