Hey folks my wife has allowed me (can you tell I'm whipped) to turn our spare room into a man cave. I would like to display my collection of swords on one wall but want to make it both tasteful as well as secure (I have a 4 year old boy). Could you guys offer me an suggestions or place a picture of their display?
thanks,:flaming:

you can always hang them higher on the wall so your 4 year old can't reach them or just keep the door closed and only allow your 4 year old in the room when you or your wife is there to supervise. That's what i do, i have a 10 month old who is all over the place now that she can walk and i just keep her out of the room and have all my swords higher on the wall out of her reach.

You could do what i did with my bamboo bo staffs. I took two J shaped hooks and screwed em into the cieling and i put em in that so they're suspended from the ceiling... Though I feel like it wouldn't look as nice for a bunch of swords

This might be your best bet for a nice display and safety, glass covered with safety hinges and can be wall mounted, similar to a gun rack

I did a quick google search, try doing a better search for a proper store and price

I would love to use one of those glass displays but its for 10 swords and one halberd. it would get pretty expensive.

I bought a used gun cabinet with glass doors and a lock and converted for swords, works pretty good.:-?

Thanks guys for your suggestions. Any idea on how to arrange them I have the following.
3 katana (Japanese curved sword)
1 wakizashi (small Japanese sword)
1 gim (Chinese straight sword)
1 Dao (Chinese cavalry sword)
1 two handed gim (Chinese long sword)
1 Scottish claymore
1 Scottish basket hilt claymore
1 two handed Spanish sword
2 Indian punch daggers
2 Chinese butterfly knives
1 Pudao (Chinese Halberd)
They will be above a lit display cabinet with helmets and a couch in front of it.
Any suggestions?

I think that putting the pudao on the top looks nice, thats how I have it on my sword rack.

if you live in the US, hop over to any IKEA store, and you can guy a bunch of stuff, mix and match it to create a nice display cabinet for several swords

I've always liked the wall shelves that hide there support brackets. That would look real nice with what you have going on there. Very classey.

I was going to do the shelves first but I built the helmet display so that the light would come from below and shelves would just block out the light.

Very nice! Perhaps I should get my wife to like me again so I too can display my modest collection. :-O
