first of all i liek to say that when i was searchign for some swords the reviews were limited, and im the sort of buyer who would want to be 100 percent in there decision. so this is for anyone intrested in the tsunami.

im gonna review all the swords i have , cuz i know theres dudes out there who have problems with decision making and are always looking for reviews.

Now when i first start saving for a high range paul chen katana, i was aiming for the bushido or the tiger kat. However the situation changed

and i was left with either shinto or tsunami .

i decidede to buy the tsunami for £380 NOW 400 , so in dollars my american pals on som are lookin at $563 - 535 - dollars. quite a bit. knowing that you can go further .

again i have pics but cuz of me phone cam batts i will upload later soz for real.

THE SWORD FIRST IMPRESSION

ok lol il mention this in the tiger kat review aswell BUT i always find that the sword looks smaller in real life than it does on the net pics, [ive not been buying the minature series lool]

it came in a simple box . red sword bag .. nice basic stuff.

ok now the sword specs

right upon lookin at it out from the bag, wow nice. the tsuka has the nice wave emblem almost like the tokugawa or samurai clan symbol. the symbol is on the koshira , and on the fuchi which makes the sword nice in apearance.
the tusba can be changed if not to everyones liking. i was persoannly happy with it , and aesthicaly it is great to look at .

Aesthetics on display
on me wall with me other kats it stands out well , the tsuka isnt that thick espeically when put next to a pkxl ..

now the blade.
after cleaning the grease from it , i was impressed .
its more straight sword with not much a curve. so be warned, if your looking for more curve then this may not suit you that much. the curve
the blade and the hamon line however are top notch. [mind not curved more than the others i own]

its made from t-10 steel so i was expecting a good cutter and overall strong blade.

the mune had no problesm to it and the kissaki is long , and the kissaki does not end short. the kissaki tip is straight.

again no bo-hi.

the weight and cutting
ok i dont usually have an issue with weight but you see i had a choice between this and a shinto. i went for this due to opinions and guys....theres lots of them.
however the point of balance is at 5 inch from my knowledge anything over 5.5 is heavy.
so this sword isnt the lightest but is not too heavy either. it has a nice feel to it. but . the weight is something that i dont like MYBE folks this espeically due to the fact that my ppk was awesomely well balanced and light, however weight is nooo big issue.

the top of the mune is wide and thick ......

cutting
my initial reaction , was that i wasnt gnna cutt that soon, i was busy and its was 400 buks i didnt wanna chip it either, espeically when i have two other high end cutters.
BUT
i did . and what can i say ..it cutt thru everything,
bottles mainly but it did not deflect a bottle 10 feet in the opposite direction . or leave the top half of a soda bottle on me neibours tree. it cutt well and LEFT NOT A SINGLE MARK ON THE BLADE[note my review on the kawashima dragon which had few scrathces] .
this shows that paul chen swords have quality , if u buy from a good dealer. [with som u got nuttin to worry about .

QAA

WAS THIS BANG FOR THE BUK ?

um ok i could of saved up for more longer and got summit in the higher range rather than mid, i cud of got the shinto . Buti am impressed with my buy , i mean its paul chen mid range , and if the lower range became favourites ,, can the mid-higher range gor worng ?? umm
NO. [my opinion] ive rbought 4 hanweis and ive had no problems.

WHAT SORT OF BUYER WOULD WANT THE TSUNAMI ?

if your lookin for aesthetics a display piece. then the great wave is brilliant it comes down to persoanl preference , personally i liked the look.
if you want to cutt with this sword .. then the blade is made just for it .
puls its clay tempered.

OVERALL
Im gnna say ... its up to the buyer , i mean if he or she likes the look of the sword , then for the price its worth it . if you want to cutt with it , you cant go wrong , keep in mind that all blades will mess up if you cutt horridly .
i like my tsunami how it is i wudnt customize it or anything.

my suggestion is if you want summit ligher and smaller go for the shinto .
if you want summit that looks nice and cutts well too , then the tsunami is
a great sword. But in the sword world it comes down to the individual consumer, no matter what i say this is only a opinion of mine, some others may not like the look of the great wave aka tsunami and may think it cutts not soo well , but ive had not issues. If i do in the future then i shall post, but it all comes down to the way you use it..ie heavy cutting or light ,
this sword can handle both . im sure most of you seen jasons vid.

4.5/5 .

-if it was bit more light , and if maybe the tuska cotton ito was replaced with somethign more bulky ie the suede wrap. then maybe id give it a 5 and maybe if the blade had more curve .

i like my tsunami , maybe if i had more time with it ,and cutting id take it to 5
but ladies and gentlemen .. i cant find anything else wrong with it that i cant take it down to .

soo .. take a look and check for yoursleves.

thanks for reading
bless
and good luck.
