Just came in today. This is my second sword from this company and again it's a wakizashi. Heres a link to it.
http://www.handmadesword.com/161.html
I bought this one because it has interesting tsuba and the battle wrap on the tsuka. The blade itself is quite sharp and has a nice deeper than expected sori. The polish isn't all that great but im sure some metal glow will fix that. The hamon is enhanced and not greatly noticable due to polish. This was also the case when i got my last wakizashi from them. The kissaki is done well and so is the boshi. One thing about the sword i take issue with is that the beggining of the blade at the habaki purtrudes down past the bottom of the habaki a little bit... its not the worst thing but i don't like it. As far as the fittings go everything is super tight with no rattle at all. The ito is as tight as think it can get and the battle wrap is done pretty good considering its a entry level blade. The fittings are all antiqued btw which gives this piece a nice look because of the brown ito / sageo color scheme. The same is of pretty good quality aswell. The ito and sageo arn't the best quality but better than most at this price point. The saya is the usual black glossy sheath... nothing to write home about. The balance is very good on this wak and lighter than my other wakizashi. I dont have any tatami or a stand anymore so i wont be cutting for a while but it did pass the paper test nicely. Everything fits tight on this sword from the menuki to the tsuba to the saya... All is snug and no rattle or fear it coming apart and stabbing your foot or at least thats a fear of mine. Overall i give this Wakizashi a 4 out of 5. I reccomend giving these swords a go especially if your thinking about it already.

nice but ive noticed alot of their stuff seems to be other companies swords but the funishins have been mixe and matched this one http://www.handmadesword.com/284.html seems o have the masahiro white shadow blade in new fittings. and this one http://www.handmadesword.com/141.html has the furnishings of the masahiro fuji elite katana and they seemed pretty unique to that sword

Good review, I like the wak. I see we share the same fears. Of course if I stab my foot, It'll be more like NOT AGAIN! Fear is a good thing.

A lot of swords are made at the same forge in china so its possible that what may look like the white shadow in other fittings is actually just a mass produced sword from that forge. They did however sell a few Masahiro blades a while back and didn't give credit to the manufacturer... which is a little underhanded... that could be why i don't see them anymore.

When I first seen the title I was like :-O

Just an FYI, if you want people to take your posts seriously, try to spell correctly. It makes reading them more enjoyable. If you do not know how to spell a word, do what I do: Google it! ;)

Gypes,
It's Handmadesword...not Handamaedsword ;)

It is funny though! =))

BTW, I'm Italian. New Italians to the states do speak this way to the point, you are almost wondering if they are just messing with you (they're not!).
Jason brings up a good point on the spelling though! :ohyeah:
I thought that post on Mideval? (Mid-Evil, Medieval?) swordsmanship, was maybe about fantasy or anime swords by the title.

Thank God for spell check.

That's funny, but my spellcheck don't work on this latest version of this Forum. It did on the previous.
It asks if it wants me to download, spellcheck, when I say yes, nothing happens.
I always assumed it has something to to with the security measures on my computer. (or just not knowing what I'm doing?)

Dotanuki, I had to download it as well, it worked though, are you using Internet explorer or Firefox?

Funny thing though, i ran the program for my original post and Spell check diddn't know how to spell "spelchek" ha, it must have self esteam issues.

Holy cow, We have spell check! I did not know till now. I may start using it.

Okay never mind, it would not let me do it- I think it is the pop-up blocker stopping it. I will just fall back on my education to allow me to spell correctly and convey my thoughts in a coherent manner.=))

That's what stopping it for me, the pop-up blocker!
Always been afraid to let a ad go through, always afraid it might let loose the floodgates like in the old days, when you would go through 20+ ads before returning to your original screen.
