This is one of the best unlicensed movie replicas I have seen. The etching of the alien runes is, indeed, quite deep but very detailed for a sword under $100.
The handle looks good. Even though the faux leather wrap can easily shift out of place it can just as easily be put back in place.
The only big draw back I found was that the sheath appears to have dried and shrunk a bit since the sword was put in. I had to hook the pommel loop to something and pull the sheath off of it. In the process one side of the sheath split a little along the swords edge but not enough to be visible without a very close inspection. Now the sword goes in and out with relative ease.
Overall: Very good replica for the price.
