Just seen this one also, with Angelina Jolie. Kind of a cross between the Matrix and Alias. Another very enjoyable action piction, many times these films can go either way. Good film, my favorite parts were Angie's tattoed back scene (too short). She was looking kind of gaunt in this picture (as opposed to Tomb Raider).

On the M-Bob meter I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

Dot, I gotsta agree whole heartedly, and I got a little something for you when you are wandering the forum and do not know where to look...

I figure the first image is a tad risque in certain circles, but then just pretend she's a plumber...

and then here is a higher view since we are only interested in the tatoo's, right?

I thought this movie rocked, not only as a kick azz action movie, but I also enjoy almost every soundtrack Danny Elfman does. Angelina Jolie was a bit too skinny for my taste in this one, but still the HOTTEST girl on the planet. If you really want a good look at the queen of hearts, check out Origional Sin http://www.amazon.com/Original-Unrated-Version-Antonio-Banderas/dp/B00005V4XV

I... didn't this movie that much. If you'd ever read the graphic novel you'd know why. Waaaaaaayyyy off of the original story and not really in a good way.

Of course you are free to like or dislike anything, for any reason; I know there are many things that I do that with, which are very popular in the general publics realm.

But to me, unless the film states that it done just like the book or whatever it comes from, I usually try to take it as a stand alone item. A good example was how bad the Dunwich Horror was compared to HP Lovecrafts story. Heck, if all the movie going public was that way, every Hammer Studios horror flick, or for that matter, John Ford movie, would be in the dump or the 99¢ bin (and I'd still love them!).

My only complaint about this movie is that Anjelina can stand to put on about 20 lbs; or loose about 15 more and play the grimm reaper in the buff. Then again, my idea of a hot looking babe would be what is considered full figure by most; like Anna Nicole before she put on all the weight...and, if she had remained a brunette.

I can understand Red's point of view here, sometimes a book or novel can be so unique and have such a great story that if a movie changes it, it can be a disappointment. (Even if the movie is good)
I know where M-bob is coming from also, we come from a older time where every Hollywood movie just faintly resembled the book, so we just resolved ourselves to judge each on their own merits. It really hasn't been untill recently that at times they stay true to the book. (occasionally)
As M-bob said, virtually every Hammer horror film was based on books that only resembled them in title alone. Look at the credits, how many were based on the Lovecraft novels. H.P. Lovecraft created a horror mythos that was far ahead of it's time, that set a mood of dread and horror that has to read to be experienced. The movies never even came close to this.
Lovecraftian stories actually became a cult thing among many writers, Robert E. Howard (creator of Conan) was one of them.
M-bob, I remember the movie 'The Dunwich Horror", what a disappointment! It was like "What was That?!!" My favorite Lovecraftian story, wasn't written by H.P. but one of the others, it was 'Whisperer in the Darkness', if you have ever lived in the hollers of W. Va., you could very well believe in that one.
At night, living back in the woods of the mountains, you can very well imagine it happening.

BTW, give me a voluptous filled out woman anyday, the current trend of a starved stick thin, with a boob job, just don't look right or natural.
and........................
Equilibrium had some good action, I just am surprised it is so overlooked, I never heard of it, untill I seen it on cable.

Bobo.. Equilibrium is worth a look. Its not perfect but has some very interesting concepts to go with the action. If Dotanuki liked it then I know Im on the right track! KK

KK,

I found the final fight scene quite innovative, but somehow the plot of the movie reminded me of another, I just can't figure out which one? Bit a slow at times, but the action was good,

I did enjoy parts of the movie, but others just sort of ruined it for me (Loom of Fate?) I do enjoy a lot of movies that that don't stick to the base material, like Spider-Man and LOTR (Where is my Tom Bombadil???)... this one just didn't do it for me that much. Lovecraft wrote some amazing stories that really aren't done justice by the movies, but that doesn't mean that some of them aren't worth a watch or two. Also, Equilibrium is an excellent movie.
